Office games are a great way to help your staff to get to know each other better. Last week, Kodework held a team building session for all its employees.
The activity was centred around a free game-based learning platform called Kahoot through which players can learn, play, have fun and celebrate together!
Using this app you can create a series of multiple choice questions – called kahoots – within minutes. The voice, format and number of questions are entirely up to you.
Kahoots are best played in a group setting. The quiz is displayed on a shared screen and the players answer each question through their own cell phones devices (on which the Kahoot app is installed).
A total of 22 people were involved in this session. The quiz was projected on a TV screen and each participant had to play it using their phone. Every question revolved around the player’s personal lives or their work projects.
The quiz content was secretly extracted from the team members’ Instagram accounts, Quora accounts, WhatsApp profiles and some information were sourced from the HR department. All of this was done so discreetly, it took them all by surprise. The team had so much fun playing this game, that they can’t wait for Kahoot session 2.0!
Team building exercises have proven to be excellent ice breakers. They have the power to strengthen coworker bonds, stimulate better brainstorming sessions, and create an atmosphere of inclusivity. The objective of having this “Disconnect to Connect” Kahoot session was to influence employee happiness and help the staff to get to know each other better on a personal level.
Kahoot also has a set of pre-existing games that you can choose from, in case you do not wish to create your own game. It even allows you to incorporate videos, images and diagrams in your quiz in order to amplify engagement.
The senior management team and Kodework members plan on holding many more such team-building activities for its employees to build positive relationships among its team members.
