As part of our vision to empower the local students of Goa and to facilitate their entry into the job industry, we at Nordic Intent, conducted our annual placement drive at the Padre Conceicao College of Engineering (PCCE), last Wednesday, the 23rd of October; and it was an absolute pleasure to meet the young, and ambitious minds who constitute the future of engineering.
The session began with an overview of Nordic Intent, our vision of empowering entrepreneurial individuals and aspiring young companies as a start-up incubator & accelerator in Goa, the innovative projects we have incubated that are now firms under the Nordic Intent umbrella, as well as their areas of expertise and the kind of services each of these firms provides.
One of the primary objectives of the session was to give the students an idea of the career opportunities and job prospects open to them in the future. To go one step further, we also wanted to enable the students to gauge and evaluate their own skills, knowledge, abilities and personality type, and to know how to make well-informed career choices. To this end, an aptitude test was conducted by Bootcamp, our professional development and career guidance firm.
The session was highly appreciated by the participants whose curiosity had been sparked and who had a lot of inquiries regarding the programs offered by Bootcamp. The students also showed a marked interest in being able to participate in future sessions of this kind.
This interest was evidence to us that our efforts were definitely valuable to them, which in turn has fueled Bootcamp’s desire and plan to continue conducting similar sessions in the future with the objective of furthering the creation of awareness about the job industry and of helping students understand their job prospects.
