Students in their final semesters are mostly overwhelmed by the job-search process.
Wondering why? Just imagine, they are expected to look for openings, research about companies, send applications, attend interviews while continuing to manage their academic load, social lives and maybe the Netflix schedules!
Although a lot of students do not understand, they ought to know that the most important part of the job-process is networking. But given the above instance, it is quite difficult for students to build a network from scratch. This is the environment where career fairs thrive.
These career fairs provide students with opportunities to interact and open-up with real people from actual companies. Career fairs provide everything that students need to kick-start their job search.
On 16/03/2018, Creometric and Ninestack were a part of the career fair that took place at Fr. Agnels College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar. Many other industries were a part of this career fair – Hospitality, IT, manufacturing, automobile and more.
All the companies gave a quick introduction about themselves and also spoke about the skills required in the job market today.
The HRs of Creometric and Ninestack interviewed some students. A lot of them were unsure about the careers they should pursue in their lives. The HRs informed the students about the various opportunities available and advised on turning their passion into a profession.
Given the current job scenario in Goa, a lot of such career fairs need to be held in colleges to help students get placed in companies. This will surely help reduce the rate of unemployment among the freshers. We are glad that these two IT companies have taken the initiative.
Yes, it’s time we create opportunities!
