We have always considered our employees to be our greatest assets. Caroline Espegard, head of Business Development at Nordic Intent has proven herself time and again and she is somebody we’re proud to have on the Nordic Intent team.
Her career began at Crayon in Norway, a global software and cloud expert company and one of the main Microsoft partners in Norway, where she worked as a CRM consultant and a certified MS CRM trainer. Her next job at the DKM Forum had her not only working with resources and vendors from all over Europe, but also in North America.
Adding another big name to her roster of employers, Caroline next worked at Toyota Norge, the head office for Toyota in Norway. Toyota is one of the best selling brands in Norway and has been leading the Norway National Customer Satisfaction Index for a number of years. Her work here as a CRM consultant was to architect, plan, build and execute direct marketing and loyalty programs on a national level, including working on tactical planning, advice and training for Toyota dealers throughout the dealer network in Norway. Her next job saw her at AbbVie, a leading pharmaceutical company where she had to manage technology strategy and operations within AbbVie Norway, as part of AbbVie Business Technology Solutions.
Caroline had the opportunity to familiarise herself with the Indian business and work culture long before she moved to Goa and joined Nordic Intent. While working in Norway, she would occasionally have to outsource work to India, which she said was a very mixed experience. While the language barrier and time difference made for a few inconveniences, the fact that she got the chance to learn about another country’s work culture made the experience worthwhile. This experience proved especially useful after she moved to India.
On what prompted her to move to India, Caroline says it was always a dream of hers to visit the Asian continent. As she likes to say, “life’s short”, so she decided it was time she took the plunge. While on a trip to Sri Lanka and as the result of a last minute change in plan, she took an impromptu trip to Goa. Loving the vibe, the people, the weather and most importantly the food here, she decided to stay on and that was that!
She says her experience working here in Goa has been an interesting one, with never a dull moment. The differences in work culture took some time to get used to but she maintains that it’s exactly what makes life so interesting. On working with Nordic Intent, Caroline thinks that the company still imbues a start up vibe, which she says is a huge plus point. The work culture is flexible and the employees are all very willing to learn, with a lot of them going out of their way and doing more than what is required of them. Admiring the fact that although Nordic Intent was built from scratch not too long ago, it is well on its way to becoming a force to be reckoned with!
