It’s been a crazy three weeks at Nordic Intent in anticipation of Christmas. We started the celebrations with Christmas competitions that brought out everyone’s competitive spirits. We did it all, from office decor to Christmas Pictionary, the ‘Loudest’ Carol, Christmas Twister, Christmas Limbo and so much more!
The last week of Christmas celebrations at Nordic Intent saw each department participate in some innovative competitions.
On 17th December, teams had to hone their ice-carving skills and create a Snowman from an ice block. What ensued was almost an hour of chipping and scraping and shaping the ice into what each of us hoped was Frosty the Snowman visiting for Christmas. Teams got even more creative, collecting whatever decor they had in their respective departments and dressed up the (Snow)man of the hour in his finest.
Another fun competition was the one that involved Social Media. What began as a last minute rush to gather items to dress up one person from the team, turned out pretty well. The theme was anything funky, ugly or weird related to Christmas. After dressing up the chosen colleague, a picture then had to be taken and uploaded to Instagram with the #uglychristmaspicture2018. The team that managed to get the most likes and comments from people outside the company, was declared the winner.
The 20th and 21st of December saw teams participate in two different Christmas competitions. The one on the 20th was about gift-wrapping a chair, with a twist. Each department sent two of their quickest and most skilled gift wrappers, who were tied together and could only wrap the chair using one hand. They were allowed to use office decor to pretty up their efforts. Teams were judged on creativity as well as the neatness of the final package. On the 21st, each team was asked to create a Christmas tree without using a real tree. The twist: suspend it upside down from the ceiling. Teams were judged on their creativity and technique in hanging the Christmas tree.
The 22nd of December marked the end of the Christmas craziness at the company. The last competition was a scavenger hunt where each department sent four of their most fit participants into the field. These teams then had to run to different places and bring back some pretty outlandish items to be used in the second part of the game. They collected things like sachets of Fair and Lovely cream, eggs, karela, meetha paan and even a bag of hair among other items. They then had to eat some of the weirder items, clean a fish and then race to throw a bunch of balloons from the compound up onto the terrace.
Not only were these Christmas competitions great fun but they brought everyone closer together too. And if the intensity of everyone’s competitiveness was anything to go by, you can be sure that all will up the ante for Christmas 2019 at Nordic Intent.
