Konic has had a busy week, filled with a lot of meetings with potential clients with the intention of sourcing more business opportunities in the Netherlands.
However, work wasn’t the only thing they’ve been busy with while in the country. Getting a chance to relax, they headed to the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam to watch one of the biggest football matches in the country. Together with the FC Groningen Business Club, they got to watch the Netherlands go toe-to-toe with Germany at the Europa League qualifier for 2020.
To say that the Dutch love football is putting it mildly. It is, after all, the country’s national sport. But that’s not all it means to them. While it is a way of life, they also consider it a part of their culture and are deeply passionate about it. Football rules the roost in every household in the Netherlands with everyone having an opinion about all aspects of the beautiful game.
The Dutch football team is also known as “Oranje”.Whenever they play, the whole country gets what is known as ‘orange madness’ or ‘orange fever’ which lasts the entire time that the team is playing in an international championship.
It’s a healthy and happy fever that can actually be seen across the country. Restaurants, shops, houses and offices are decorated with orange flags and posters and cars usually sport at least one Dutch or orange flag to show their support for the team. And of course, to show their love for the team and the game, everyone gets dressed up in orange and white or they wear some crazy outfits in these same colours.
Given that the Netherlands is a popular European business destination, Konic has lots of exciting plans in the pipeline. As a part of the FC Groningen Business Club, the company looks forward to creating more business relationships in Europe.
