The afternoon of 25th August saw a lot of caterers and other industry professionals in attendance at the third and last day of the Goa Food and Hospitality Expo for a panel discussion on the current trends and changes in the catering industry. Judah Fernandez (partner, Creometric) was invited to be a part of this panel discussion.
The discussion had the panelists talking about the difference between old food trends and the current food trends. The panelists also shared their personal experiences related to the catering industry, the challenges that one may face in this industry, and certain tips that would help novice caterers.
Judah stressed upon the importance of having a product of great quality. Since print media is on the decline, digital marketing isn’t a choice anymore; it’s a necessity. The advantages of this medium are that your product or brand can reach a very large number of people at a relatively low cost, as compared to more traditional advertising mediums. Most brands have understood the importance of the digital medium, therefore it is very important for your brand to create innovative content in order to stand out. Most importantly, ensure that your content always conveys the spirit of your brand.
The other panelists were renowned members of the catering industry, namely Kundan Fogueri (owner, Fogueri Caterers and President of the Catering Association of Goa), Satish Prabhu (GM, Hotel Mandovi), Shabir Shah (F&B manager, Taj Vivanta), Gopikant Shirodkar (goITWay), Girish Desai (owner, Kokni Kanteen and Catpro) and Sanjeev Khorjuvekar (owner, Dattaraj Caterers & Board member of CAG). The discussion was moderated by Sunita Rodrigues.
The Goa Food and Hospitality Expo is currently in its sixth year and provides a vast array of business networking opportunities for members of the food and hospitality industry.
