Helle Marie Vedvik is a full time student at Høgskolen i Østfold where she is pursuing a degree in IT and Leadership. Her majors include System Design and Leadership. She began her journey freelancing as a Web Consultant for Kodework last summer, with the goal of learning more and getting more practical experience in the IT world. It has been a year since Kodework has had the pleasure of working with Helle. Website design & development on platforms like WordPress, Magento, WooCommerce, Core PHP are services that were being marketed by Helle.
Helle devised a simple marketing plan and strategy involving email marketing. The Norwegian market is quite fresh to the outsourcing scene while some companies have already experienced challenges while outsourcing to India and some have had bad experiences as well. This has led to many potential clients developing a very negative attitude towards India. Helle set out in July last year to work against these odds. One of the biggest USP was that the founders of Kodework initially were themselves outsourcing IT work to India and had bad experiences, which led to them establishing Kodework. They worked hard to build a strong team with a high level of communication that could deliver quality. This led them to finally settling in Goa and scaling up Kodework there. Kodework already had a couple of Norwegian clients at the time Helle jumped aboard, but none of these could be flaunted or used as our portfolio and Helle didn’t have much reference work as well.
Helle travelled to Goa, India this January for the second time in her life to understand the culture down there and get to know the people who worked down there better. With a tailor made strategy of emailing to phone calls to physical meetings with clients, Helle managed to land Kodework some big clients. Since last summer, Kodework has grown by 100% and is still growing.
Kodework has raised the bar higher for the latter half of the year and is sure that Helle will come through with flying colours. We hope to have our new stars achieve heights too.
