Finance management can be such a daunting task, from bonds to shares and mutual funds. This morning, Goa’s very own financial doctor; Dr. Celso Fernandes put our minds to rest with a session on how to make money, even while sleeping. The interactive session coined as ‘Money Talks’, was held exclusively for members of our various startups.
The session was loosely based on his perception of the book The Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason. The book as well as his session revolved around the concept of the five golden rules of money and boils down to how to grow one’s personal wealth. Dr. Celso Fernandes started the session by breaking down terms that are often heard with a deep sense of overwhelming, words like budget, interest, savings or shares. He went on to explain the difference between saving and investment, investing in mutual funds versus investing in shares and living examples of clients he has consulted for in the past. It was truly an interactive session on a subject that everyone loves and cannot live without; money.
Dr. Celso Fernandes is a multi-faceted personality. He is fondly referred to as the ‘Financial Doctor of Goa’, and is an active flagbearer for financial literacy among the citizens of India, especially for youngsters. has authored two well-received books on finance called “Who Says Money Doesn’t Grow On Trees” and “Don’t Chase Money, Let Money Chase You”.
