To help their employees grow on a personal level as much as on a professional one, Kodework had a session where the company’s co-founder, Judah Fernandez, held a Norwegian language training class for the employees. Judah has been speaking Norwegian for the last eight years and has acquired the proficiency and fluency of a native Norwegian speaker, so he was well placed to conduct this class.
The session covered the very basics of Norwegian, such as pronouns, simple introductions and special characters. The attendees were also asked to practise their new found Norwegian speaking skills on each other which made for a very interactive class.
Judah also recommended an online language app called Duolingo, to ease the learning process. Duolingo helps beginners grasp the core components of a new language through a format that makes use of levels and other quirky components. The app also offers a digital language proficiency assessment.
The session was conducted on a working Saturday, which also made for a great start to the weekend and left everybody in good spirits.
When asked about her experience, here’s what one of the attendees had to say:
“I’ve always wanted to learn a foreign language as I find the idea of speaking another language inspiring and fun. The class was just as interesting as I thought it would be, and I’m looking forward to the next one.”
