Nordic Intent ended the month of August fittingly, by unwinding in the lap of nature at Swapnagandha, a nature resort in the Chorla Ghats. As the brochure of Swapnagandha so eloquently puts it, “An expanse of verdant bottle green mountain peaks till the eye can see and a carpet of mist that seems to surge over the environs in an ethereal manner, almost enveloping your being into its mystic realm. A great pied hornbill seams across this landscape to land on a Kokum tree while the beckoning call of a Sambhar resonates through the valley. This is Swapnagandha.” Nestled in the Western Ghats, Swapnagandha shares its evergreen borders with the Mahdei Wildlife Sanctuary and the reserved forests of Karnataka and Maharashtra.
Their trip at Swapnagandha had all the ingredients of the perfect unwinding and detoxing holiday; no electronic gadgets, TVs, lots of nature trails, waterfalls, exquisite local dishes and an infinity pool with a breathtaking view. The highlight (after the infinity pool with the valley view, of course), were the two treks that the team was a part of; one was a mountain trek; the trail took the trekkers to the mountain peak, where they got the chance to look down at a valley shrouded in early evening mist. The other trek that happened in the morning took them on a path through the jungles and to a roaring waterfall, which not only made for some great pictures, but also for a great swimming pool!
Come nightfall, there were several activities lined up, and while the team did give the mehendi session a miss, they made sure to watch the screening of a wildlife documentary.
For city dwellers, a trip to the outskirts where they can be away from the hustle and bustle of city life and surrounded by all things green and natural is highly recommended! And Swapnagandha is a great option, a statement that Nordic Intent will willingly testify to.
